Course Overview
This 4-hour patrol rifle course is designed to equip law enforcement officers with the critical skills necessary for rifle handling, accuracy, and tactical proficiency. The course focuses on mechanical offset, malfunction clearance, decision-making under pressure, and effective reloading techniques, preparing officers for real-world scenarios where quick responses and precision are essential.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, officers will:
- Master Mechanical Offset: Accurately engage targets between 3 and 50 yards, adjusting for mechanical offset to ensure precise hits.
- Clear Malfunctions Quickly: Learn and apply techniques to swiftly resolve rifle malfunctions, keeping the weapon operational in high-stress environments.
- Enhance Decision-Making Skills: Develop critical decision-making abilities through immersive scenario-based exercises in high-pressure situations.
- Perfect Reloads: Perform speed and tactical reloads from all positions, ensuring continuous operational readiness.
- Understand the Manual of Arms: Gain proficiency in high and low-ready positions for fast engagements in varied tactical situations.

Proficiency training on high and low-ready positions, preparing officers for fast and effective engagements. |

Mechanical Offset Drills |
Focused exercises on engaging targets from 3 to 50 yards, compensating for mechanical offset to ensure accurate impacts. |

Decision Development Exercises |

Required Equipment
- Patrol rifle with sling
- 3 magazines (minimum)
- 300 rounds of ammunition
- Eye and ear protection
- Department-issued equipment
Grading and Certification
Officers will be evaluated on their proficiency in mechanical offset accuracy, malfunction clearance, reloads, and decision-making exercises. Successful completion of the course will result in a certificate of completion.
Note: Officers are responsible for providing their ammunition for this course.
