Step 1: Complete a North Carolina Certified Concealed Carry Course

To apply for your permit, you must first complete a certified Concealed Carry Handgun (CCH) course. This course will cover firearm safety, handling, state laws related to carrying concealed firearms, and self-defense. The class typically takes 8 hours, including both classroom instruction and range time.

Step 2: Obtain Your Certificate of Completion

After successfully completing the course, you will receive a certificate showing you’ve met the training requirements. This certificate is essential for your application.

Step 3: Submit Your Application to the Sheriff’s Office
